Remembering Noble Crawford

Noble Crawford Jr. passed away on July 21, 2024 at the age of 75 at his residence in Fort Worth, TX. His brief but valiant battle with cancer ended surrounded by family and loved ones. Despite his unexpected decline, Noble maintained his commitment to care for his loving wife Mae, as long as he was physically able.

As a child, Noble spent summers at his grandmother’s farm, in Alabama, where he developed a love for country living. His years growing up and going to school in Tampa, Florida provided him the opportunity to meet his wife of 55 years at Middleton Senior High School.

Immediately following high school, Noble attended junior college until he joined the Air Force in 1968, married Mae in 1969 and accepted Christ in the years to follow; which changed the trajectory of his life. He served in the military for four years, while relocating to Texas in the process. During his time in the military Noble & Mae had their first child, Carol, in 1970. He retired from the Air Force in 1972 and attended North Texas State University; where he got his BA in Communications.

After having their second child, Noble Ill, in 1973 and third child, Crystal, in 1975, he continued his journey of spiritual growth, while serving in various capacities at Bible-teaching churches such as Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship and Denton Bible Church. During those years, he worked full-time until attending the Texas Department of Public Safety law enforcement academy. He served proudly for 20 years with DPS ascending from Highway Patrol Officer to Sergeant of Criminal Investigations until retiring in 2003. During his law enforcement career, he met Gary Randle at OCBF Church and the final chapter of his life began.

Gary & Noble co-founded Hope Farm in the ’90s after sharing a burden for fatherless boys in the inner city. This would be the beginning of perhaps one of the biggest contributions of his lifetime.

Noble’s servant-heart and gift of leadership by example, enabled him to leave an indelible impression on everyone he encountered. As a result, countless boys and young men were afforded the opportunity to experience genuine love, accountability, and mentorship from a Christian role model and father figure.

Noble’s desire to serve other through Christ continued through his loyal service and leadership role within Destiny Church. This culminated into him becoming a certified John Maxwell Leadership Coach. His plans to continue to impact the lives of men were ultimately cut short; but his time on this earth was a life well spent, a fight well fought, and a race finished that was pleasing to God. We know that he was welcomed into Heaven with the words, “Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant!”

Noble was preceded in death by his father Noble Crawford Sr., siblings Larry Crawford, Paul Crawford, and Clauzella Crawford. He is survived by his wife, Mae Crawford, his children, Carol (Jeffery) Myers, Noble III (Elkie) Crawford, and Crystal (Rogers) Green; his grand-children, his mother Callie Crawford, his siblings Martha (James) Stevens, Arie Davis, Robert (Mary) Crawford, and Cassius (April) Crawford, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
